The name Jo-Mar represents
the
founders Joseph and Maryann Grasman. They started grooming in 1962
in the basement of their home in Elmont, New York. Joseph and Maryann also started breeding their prize winning mini Schnauzers. Then in 1972 Joseph and Maryann moved their growing business to a small shop on Meacham Avenue in Elmont, New York. In 1974 their son Scott joined them, and started grooming and raised Dobermans. The family business was born.
Because of their love of animals, their care and attention to details, the business grew and once again had to move. Jo-Mar moved again in 1977 to 5 Covert Avenue, Floral Park, New York, where they remained for 22 years. Scott and his wife Catherine took over the business in 1986. They continued to work with the same values as their parents, and with the same love and dedication to animals. In 1999, Jo-Mar purchased their own
building next door, and was able to improve and expand.
Today, Jo-Mar resides at 1 Covert Avenue,
in the beautiful town of Floral Park, New York. Jo-Mar has been serving Floral Park and the surrounding communities for 46 years. We have a growing client base with customers coming as far away as Texas, Florida, Massachusetts and California. Scott and Catherine have pets of their own: a Yellow Labrador named Sugar Buzz, an English Bulldog named Vin Diesel aka Vincent, a second Bulldog named Paulie Boy, and a feline sister named Meacham.
