Cathy Grassman was voted

"Business Person of the Year"

by the Covert Avenue Chamber of Commerce, for her achievements in both her own business,
as well as her tireless work for the businesses of the community.

Cathy Grasman is a long time resident of Nassau County having graduated from Nassau Community College with her degree in accounting. In 1982, Cathy began working for Jo-Mar Pet Grooming and Boarding where she met her husband Scott Grasman, the owner’s son. In 1986, Cathy and Scott married and took over the family business to build it to what it is today. The business is now forty-six years old and is a second generation family owned business.  In 1999, Cathy & Scott bought the building they are in today successfully expanding their business from just grooming to boarding as well. The success of the business did not come from only the blood sweat and tears put into the business but also through Cathy’s vast involvement in the community. Cathy continuously contributes to the Floral Park and Stewart Manor communities, and that’s just to name a few. Cathy’s love for pets certainly shows through the charity pet fashion shows that she coordinates for so many organizations. She also donates her time and money to help out the local Girl Scout Troop.. Cathy currently serves as the Vice President for the Covert Avenue Chamber where her dedication, enthusiasm and knowledge have helped promote the organizations bottom line of supporting local businesses. As Vice President Cathy has helped organize the Covert Avenue Street Fair and acted as the Covert Avenue Chamber’s liaison with the Village of Floral Park. Cathy has always been an inspiration to those she serves. It is amazing how Cathy finds the times to be so involved while raising her two boys Scott 18 and Nick 14. With all of Cathy’s energy and dedication it is no wonder she has clients in Florida and California.

Congratulations!
